Christmas Town USA lights in McAdenville
5:30p to 10:00p nightly, Downtown McAdenville, McAdenville, NC. Walk or drive through the town's red, green and white lights. The season opens with a tree lighting Tue Dec 1 at 5:30p at Dynamo 31, 102 Main St., and the Yule Log Parade is Thu Dec 10 with singing from 5:30p at 100 Main St.
Fort Mill Christmas Village and Lighting of the Tree
5:00p to 8:00p, tree lighting 6:00p, Fort Mill Amphitheater at Walter Y. Elisha Park, Fort Mill, Free. The town lights its 50-foot tree with school choirs and dance teams on stage, plus a Christmas village of local vendors, trackless train rides, food trucks and photos with Santa.
ChristmasVille in Old Town Rock Hill

Four days of holiday events downtown: Santa's arrival Thursday night, horse-drawn carriage rides, a free kids playland with rides near Fountain Park, Santa's Main Street Workshop for kids 12 and under, Storytime with Santa (Sat 11:30a, Sun 3:30p), ice sculptures, stage shows and a vendor village. Ring in the New Year Race at the Greenway
10K at 10:00a, 5K at 10:10a, Rush Pavilion, Lake Haigler Entrance, Anne Springs Close Greenway, Fort Mill, 5K $23.39, 10K $28.74. A low-key 10K or 5K trail run with the Greenway Run Club on New Year's Day. Race-day packet pickup from 9:00a.
