Drive-through light park in Johnson County, west of Midlothian, open select nights on the park's calendar from Thanksgiving night through Dec. 27. Santa photos ($25) every open night through Dec. 23. A walk-through preview ($15 a person) is on the park's calendar for Sat. Nov. 21; another line on its site says Nov. 22, so check before you go. Map apps find it best by name, not address.

Millions of lights and a light tunnel at Lynn Creek Park on Joe Pool Lake. Halfway through, park and walk Holiday Village: carnival rides, a walk-through forest and photos with Santa. Last season general admission was $50 a car, with a $149 Fast Pass; this year's price is on the ticket page. Arrive early Dec. 12 to 25.
